The Beginning    The Immediate Past    The Past    The Immediate Future    The End

Dispatches from MacAfee Solutions:

2 October 2006 - Films That Should Be On DVD Already:
The Giant Claw (dir. Fred F. Sears, 1957) - In 1955, Jeff Morrow starred as the genial alien Exeter in This Island Earth. It was his first science fiction film and it was a big-budget affair for Universal Pictures. Two years later he starred in The Giant Claw, a film about a giant bird "the size of a battleship" attacking the Earth, for Columbia Pictures. This film had quite a bit less going for it in the budget department. (The giant bird effects were farmed out to a Mexican company. Enough said.) As such, it was a perfect specimen for the Cherry Hill Experiment, which went quite well. It would be great if we had a copy on DVD to show at future Experiments, though.

3 October 2006 - Incidentally, the other films we showed this year were Dr. Strange ('70s TV movie), The Puma Man, Captain American (another '70s TV movie), Gladiator Cop (with Lorenzo Lamas), The Executioner, Moon 44 (early Roland Emmerich flick), Legend of the Chupacabra (a Troma special), Nightmare in Wax, Gerry (which I abstained from scoring since I actually like it) and Das Clown. (Somehow I keep missing that last one.)

5 October 2006 - Oh, cheeky cheeky. Oh, naughty sneaky.

6 October 2006 - So, yeah. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. A prequel to a remake. Spare me.
