The Beginning    The Immediate Past    The Past    The Immediate Future    The End

Dispatches from the someone having a wild weekend:

25 September 2006 - Films That Should Be On DVD Already:
Catch Us If You Can (dir. John Boorman, 1965) - In the wake of A Hard Day's Night, a good number of contemporary British bands got their own film vehicles. (Heck, Herman's Hermits got two.) Catch Us If You Can was the one for the Dave Clark Five, who starred not as themselves, but as a team of stunt men working on an advertising campaign for meat with the nonsensical slogan "MEAT FOR GO!" When Dave Clark and the star of the commercial drive off the set, vowing never to return, that's the cue for a series of musical montages set to DC5 tunes and lyrical passages as theyjourney through the English countryside in winter. If anything is preventing it from being released on DVD, it's probably Clark's stranglehold on the DC5 catalogue. Hopefully someday he'll relent and the world will once again be able to catch him and his cohorts.

27 September 2006 - It's that simple, and that hard.

29 September 2006 - Big weekend for me. It's Cherry Hill Experiment time again and we've got some terrible, terrible movies to show unsuspecting convention-goers. Also, I've gathered some more Accumulates for you to read. I'd say that's enough.
