The Beginning    The Immediate Past    The Past    The Immediate Future    The Present

Dispatches from the Hipgnosis Beat:

19 January 2004 - Quote of the Week: "It's dog eat dog, and cat eat mouse, and mouse eat cheese, and the cheese just smells." --Stan Ridgway, "Pick It Up (And Put It In Your Pocket)"

20 January 2004 - The Iowa caucuses were last night, and to that I say so freaking what. Being from New Jersey -- where our primary isn't held until June 8 -- I don't actually get to decide who I get to vote for in November. I'd like to say I support Dean or Kerry or Edwards or anybody, really, but it's not up to me. Hell, along with Montana, New Jersey is dead last when it comes to the presidential primaries. Why even bother at that point? We were the third freaking state in the union. How the hell did we end up with the short straw?
In other news, Spalding Gray officially became a missing person yesterday and Stephen Hawking may have been assaulted. What in the world can you do.

21 January 2004 - The State of the Union Address was last night, but I was too busy watching all of the episodes of The Ben Stiller Show with commentary tracks (which amounts to roughly 53.8% of them) to care. And that's all I have to say about that.

22 January 2004 - Nothing was last night, and it's about time, I say. Oh, yes. And scientists in Germany have discovered the key to creative thinking: It's a little something called adequate sleep.

23 January 2004 - Hey, what with everything and the stuff, I forgot to mention that yesterday marked the start of the Chinese New Year. It's 4071, the Year of the Monkey. Go, Monkey, Go -- Mojo Jojo!
