Dispatches from the Medium of Aquamarine Scrabble:
December 2003 - Quote of the Week: "So this one duck goes up to another duck and says, 'Quack.' So the other duck says, 'Quack quack' back. Then the first duck says, 'Quack quack quack' and they both go off and have a good laugh about it later." --Roger, telling the infamous duck joke in This Happens (or, as it was known that week, Shot Happens)
December 2003 - Pardon me while I take a moment to mark the passing of This Happens. Ten years ago today, This Happens -- my college comic -- breathed its last. And yes, I'm aware that only the governor can pardon me.
December 2003 - Today is the day is roast a mellow. Now, wait just one manizzle. Parliamentary procedure, people. Peter popped a pickle peeper, peering poured the Pope. Plastics!
December 2003 - Well, today is my last day as a clerk at Tower. And tomorrow is my first day as supervisor. Oh, Boise, Idaho.
December 2003 - Okay, the '80s remakes can stop now. First we were given Honey, which is basically Flashdance without the Michael Sembello music. Now we're being presented with Love Don't Cost a Thing, which at least cops to the fact that it's based on Can't Buy Me Love. I know Hollywood has long been in the cultural bankruptcy business, but what's next? An updated version of Morgan Stewart's Coming Home? A Weekend at Bernie's for the new millennium? Maid to Order Redux?
